Timber building materials in Indonesia
There is a wide range of mostly board products manufactured in Indonesia. About 300 companies are producing barecore, blockboard and plywood. The most common species used is Sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria). 90% of these companies are barecore producers only. These products are mainly for export and used as material for furniture, doors and other panel products.
Timber construction materials are new products for the Indonesian sector. More and more companies are shifting towards becoming construction supply manufacturers. Lightwood is predestined as a timber construction material in the form of LVL, Glulam and CLT.
